Detailed forensic examination follows record cocaine seizure

A detailed forensic examination of a luxury yacht seized along with the largest amount of cocaine ever recovered in the state continues today.

The estimated value of a consignment impounded off the south-west coast this week is expected to be close to €1bn.

Three men are being held by Gardaí.

The 75 packages of cocaine, each weighing 25 kilograms, are being examined at Garda Headquarters in Dublin.
