The number of drug-related deaths in Ireland increased by 65% in the eight years to 2005, according to figures published today by the Health Research Board.

The number of drug-related deaths in Ireland increased by 65% in the eight years to 2005, according to figures published today by the Health Research Board.

The board says 242 deaths were recorded in 1998, rising to 400 in 2005.
