Report on Cork steel site complete
A report into health and safety at the Irish Steel site at Haulbowline in Co. Cork has been completed.
The Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea said it revealed that there is no unacceptable risk to the health of those who live or work on the Haulbowline site.
However it did find elevated levels of some toxic materials in one location on the site.
The independent report made six recommendations, including constant monitoring of the environment at Haulbowline and further toxic tests.
Minister O'Dea said some of these have already been completed and all other recommendations will be implemented.
