2,000 civilians now working for the Gardaí

Justice Minister Dermot Ahern has revealed that there are now 2,000 civilians working in the Gardaí, an increase of 60% in the past two years.

Mr Ahern confirmed the figures at the opening of a new Probation Service head office in Navan, Co Meath, today.
