Up to 200 to be employed on Limerick oil terminal

Up to 200 people are set to be employed in Limerick during the building of the largest deepwater oil terminal in the country for 40 years.

Three of the leading fuel distributors in the country have joined forces to create the Atlantic Fuel Supply Company to develop and run the terminal at Foynes.

The €30m facility will have a storage capacity of one billion litres per year and will be capable of supplying 15% of Ireland's fuel requirements.

Work has already begun on the terminal, which is expected to be completed by August 2010.
