The number of murders and manslaughters in Ireland has fallen by almost one third over the past year, according to the latest CSO crime figures.

The number of murders and manslaughters in Ireland has fallen by almost one third over the past year, according to the latest CSO crime figures.

The statistics agency says 57 homicide offences were recorded in the 12 months up to the end of September, compared to 82 in the previous 12-month period.
