Horse put down after attack at Cork halting site

Gardaí in Cork are investigating a horrifying attack on a horse at a halting site in Knocknaheeny earlier this week.

The 15-year-old piebald mare suffered several deep wounds to her neck and legs in the attack, which is believed to have been carried out with slash-hooks.
