Kerry motorists warned of heavy flooding

Motorists are being advised to drive carefully this evening as parts of the country are hit by heavy flooding.

Kenmare town and Killarney in Co Kerry are among the worst affected.

All access routes to Kenmare town are blocked and motorists are advised to avoid the area completely.

The Killarney-Kenmare Road is also impassable, and the Cork to Killarney road is also closed.

In Killarney, there is extremely heavy surface water and motorists are asked to drive with caution.
