Two men remain in Garda custody tonight after the discovery of a firearm.

Two men remain in Garda custody tonight after the discovery of a firearm.

The men, aged 22 and 28, were arrested after been seen acting suspiciously by officers in an area in Dublin between the Royal Canal and the Dublin Industrial Estate, Glasnevin.

A car and a motorbike were also seized during the incident at 3pm.

A Garda spokesman said the pair were being held separately at Cabra and Blanchardstown garda stations.

They can be detained for up to 72 hours.
