A jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a Dublin teenager accused of killing another student on Waterloo Road.

Finn Colclough (aged 18), with an address at Waterloo Road, Dublin 4, denies stabbing student Sean Nolan on May 26, 2007.

Swearing in the jury of seven men and five women, Mr Justice Paul Carney asked them if they had any prior knowledge of the events or the people concerned.

He told them that Mr Colclough’s mother, Alix Gardner runs a well-known cookery school in the city.

The trial will begin on Wednesday and is expected to last until the end of next week.
