Taoiseach confident of solution to medical cards row

The Taoiseach has said that the plan to remove the automatic medical card entitlement for the over 70s will go ahead, but not in its present form.

Brian Cowen was speaking on national radio this lunchtime as controversy continued over the plan and pressure mounted on the Government.
