Two men arrested in connection with car hijacking

Two men were arrested today by police hunting the people responsible for dragging a woman from her car on a busy Belfast street and making off in the vehicle.

The 26-year-old was sitting in traffic on the Lisburn Road in the south of the city last Tuesday evening when a man got out of the car in front and forced her from the vehicle before driving off in it.

The woman, who was deeply shaken but not badly injured, later complained that people stood back and watched what was happening but did not go to her aid.

The suspects, aged 20 and 21, were arrested in the Dunmurry area not far from where the incident took place.
