Conference: Awareness the key for parents fighting drugs
A major anti-drugs conference in Dublin today will hear from families who have been affected by drug abuse.
The conference marks the 25th anniversary of Community Awareness of Drugs, a voluntary organisation that provides drug prevention programmes to parents.
Spokesperson Bernie McDonnell says information is the key in the fight against drugs.
Parents who are well informed about drug abuse have a better chance of preventing their children from using banned substances, according to Ms McDonnell.
