Ireland marks UN's Day for Eradication of Poverty

Today is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

The UN event - which has been running for 16 years - aims to highlight the struggles faced by people living in poverty.

An estimated 300,000 people in Ireland are living in consistent poverty. Some 100,000 of those are children.
