Minister announces increase in tax bands

Mr Lenihan announced that tax bands will increase by €1,000 for single people and €2,000 for a married, two-income, couples.

“I will increasing the standard rate tax band by €1,000 for a single person, and €2,000 for a married two-earner couple to help maintain its real value and to ensure that the maximum possible number of tax payers continue to pay tax at the standard rate of 20%.”
