Trial of man charged with ammunition possession set for February

The Special Criminal Court today fixed a date next year for the trial of a Northern Ireland man charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Barry Petticrew (aged 37), Ashdale, Station Rd, Randalstown, Co. Antrim, is charged with the unlawful possession of a Browning 9mm handgun and ten rounds of 9mm parabellum calibre ammunition at Dundalk Western bypass, Ballynahattin, Dundalk, Co Louth on May 17.
