Cabinet prepares 'toughest' Budget in 20 years

The Cabinet held a special meeting today to prepare for a radical budget which one minister said could be the toughest in 20 years.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen led ministers in the latest of a series of discussions on the expected cuts to be announced in a budget brought forward to October 14.
