Rape Crisis Centre calls for treatment of sex offender prisoners
A support organisation for rape victims is calling on the Government to introduce mandatory treatment for sex offenders in Irish prisons.
The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre says the treatments need to be widespread and compulsory.
It follows the announcement from the Department of Justice today that the current rehabilitation service is under review.
Chief executive of the DRCC, Ellen O'Malley Dunlop, said the treatment schemes are crucial to rehabilitation.
