Memorial service held to remember Bray firefighters

A short memorial service has been held in Co Wicklow this morning to remember two part-time firefighters who died on duty in Bray a year ago.

The service was held at the site of the blaze on Lower Dargle Road to mark the anniversary of the tragedy.

Twenty-six-year-old Mark O'Shaughnessy and 46-year-old Brian Murray, a father of 13 children, died when they became trapped in a burning industrial unit.

The incident is being investigated by the Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority, but the men's families have been calling for an independent inquiry.
