Man feared dead after boat capsizes off Clare coast

A man in his 70s was feared dead this evening after a small boat capsized off the coast of Co Clare.

A second man in his 50s was been rescued from the water, but was said to be in a serious condition after he was air-lifted from underneath the boat.

It is reported the two men were fishing when their boat overturned near the Diamond Rocks in Kilkee this afternoon.

A recovery operation was continuing involving the Shannon-based coastguard helicopter, local rescue workers and divers.
