Four arrested at Corrib protests

Four people have been arrested in Mayo in relation to an incident involving Shell to Sea campaigners at the weekend.

Four people have been arrested in Mayo in relation to an incident involving Shell to Sea campaigners at the weekend.

The disturbance took place during a cavalcade of cars in support of Maura Harrington on Sunday afternoon.

Ms Harrington is currently on the 11th day of a hunger strike against the pipe laying work due to be carried out for Shell's Corrib project.

The four men were arrested early this morning, and are being held in garda stations in Belmullet, Swinford, Castlebar and Ballina.
