Three arrested in connection with cash-in-transit robbery
Two men and a woman have been arrested following an armed raid on a cash-in-transit van in Co Louth.
It happened in Drogheda at about 10am this morning.
Gardai say the armed gang held up a van delivering cash to an ATM machine in Bryanstown in Drogheda around 10am this morning.
It is not yet clear how much cash was taken, and gardaà say no one was injured.
It is understood the gang fled the scene in a getaway van, which has been found burnt out on the Platten Road just outside Drogheda.
Gardaà subsequently stopped a car at the Regency Hotel at Dublin Airport and arrested two men and a woman.
They are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Garda stations in Drogheda Santry and Whitehall.
Garda investigations are continuing.
