Guinness brewery to return to original home

The Guinness brewery is returning to its original home in Leixlip, Co Kildare.

It is being reported in this morning's Irish Times that parent company Diageo has chosen a site near the town for its €550m new facility.

The new brewery will be the largest in the world in terms of output and will employ 170 people.

It will brew exclusively for the export market, with the St James’s Gate brewery in Dublin continuing to brew for the domestic market.
