EPA calls for investment in initiatives to combat climate change
Adapting to the challenges of climate change requires immediate and continued investment despite the economic slowdown, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The remarks from the EPA coincide with the start of a two-day conference which has set out a goal of achieving a sustainable Ireland at its core.
Director General Doctor Mary Kelly is warning of the need to maintain our focus on the challenges, despite our economic difficulties.
"We will be comparing our own regime here in terms of regulation with some other regimes and seeing how we could make it more effective," she said.
