Gormley to announce tidiest town

One lucky town or village will be crowned as the country's cleanest place later today.

Environment Minister John Gormley will announce this year's winner of the Tidy Towns competition at a special televised final in Dublin this evening.

The event marks the 50th anniversary of the annual competition, which sees 720 towns and villages battle it out for the title each year.
