Garda injured in Limerick road crash

A Garda has been injured in a road accident in Co Limerick after his motorcycle collided with a truck in Patrickswell earlier today.

He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where he is being treated for a broken collar bone and injuries to his leg.

Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road crash in Co Kildare last night that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man.

He died when his motorcycle collided with a jeep in Monasterevin - the driver of the jeep was uninjured.

Anyone who was travelling on the road between Monasterevin and Kildangan between 10.30pm and 10.45pm last night is asked to contact the Gardaí at Kildare.
