Former Gilligan associate shot in Marbella

A former associate of the convicted drugs dealer John Gilligan is understood to have survived an assassination attempt near Marbella in Spain.

Peter Mitchell of Summerhill, Dublin is believed to have been the intended target of a lone gunman who discharged several rounds outside a bar in Puerta Banus on Thursday night.
