Gun-waving man faces court

A man is due to appear before Dublin District Court after allegedly threatening unarmed gardaí with a gun.

He was detained on Wednesday night following a confrontation in the Dolphin's Barn area of the city.

Members of the garda under-water team, who had been searching the Grand Canal for the weapon yesterday, recovered a firearm.
