Patients evacuated after gas leak at Kilkenny hospital

More than 20 patients have been evacuated from the Department of Psychiatry at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny today following a gas leak.

Outpatient appointments have also been cancelled for the afternoon.

The Health Service Executive says it believes construction workers at the hospital hit a gas pipe this morning.

The HSE says the hospital is functioning normally, but it is advising against unnecessary visits.
