Armagh Observatory has said that June was drier than normal with average temperatures and levels of sunshine.

Armagh Observatory has said that June was drier than normal with average temperatures and levels of sunshine.

Rainfall amounted to 44.0 mm (1.73 inches) - about 70% below average.

The number of hours of sunshine was 163.6, more or less average for June, the observatory said..

The average monthly temperature was 13.8C, again about average for the month. The maximum temperature recorded was 23.5C on June 1. There was one night with a slight ground frost (June 5).

Armagh Observatory has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
