Home of elderly DUP councillor attacked overnight
The home of an elderly DUP councillor has been targeted in an overnight attack blamed on unionists who oppose his party's power-sharing deal with Sinn Féin.
A window on 77-year-old William Smith's home in Tandragee, Co Armagh, was smashed during the incident.
A rope tied in the shape of a noose was also left outside.
The words "traitor" and "DUP/IRA" were also daubed on the home of his son, former Craigavon Mayor Robert Smith.
