One man died and another was seriously injured in a work-related accident in Mountmellick, Co Laois.

One man died and another was seriously injured in a work-related accident in Mountmellick, Co Laois.

It is believed the two men were installing floodlights at a sports ground in the town at about 3pm this afternoon when a ’cherrypicker’ transporter they were operating suddenly overturned.
