Defence Minister Willie O'Dea is due to travel to Chad today despite clashes involving Irish soldiers in the country over the weekend.

Mr O'Dea and Defence Forces chief-of-staff Dermot Early are due to spend three days in the country, during which they will visit the 400 Irish troops taking part in an EU peacekeeping mission.
