A woman has undergone surgery in Tallaght hospital following a shooting incident in West Dublin.

A woman has undergone surgery in Tallaght hospital following a shooting incident in West Dublin.

The 42-year-old's injuries are described as not life threatening, and it is understood she is now in a stable condition.

She sustained the injuries when shots were fired at the front door of her home at Corkagh View in Clondalkin shortly after 11pm last night.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and gardaí in Clondalkin are investigating.
