Anti-Lisbon campaign says Government bullying has backfired
Opponents of the Lisbon Treaty have warned the public to expect a "dirty-tricks" campaign from the Government in the run up to next week's referendum.
Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, former Green Party MEP Patricia McKenna said she hopes the Irish people will not bow to "pressure and lies" from the political establishment.
Reacting to the dramatic swing in favour of the No campaign highlighted in the latest opinion polls, Richard Boyd Barrett of the Irish Anti-War Movement said bullying by the government has backfired.
The Peace and Neutrality Alliance claims the Lisbon Treaty advances the nuclear agenda of the EU and furthers the militarisation of Europe.
