Health workers' action 'could hit patients'

Patients across the country could face massive disruption to services from tomorrow when almost 30,000 health workers begin industrial action over claims of a recruitment freeze.

Trade union Impact said members will take part in a work-to-rule and refuse to cover vital posts left vacant by a Health Service Executive (HSE) embargo on hiring staff.
