Power has been restored to tens of thousands of people in Cork who were without electricity this morning because of a fault effecting three ESB substations on the north side of the city.

Homes, businesses and traffic lights were without power in the Dennehy's Cross, Fair Hill and Togher areas of the city.

The ESB says emergency crews were sent to deal with the fault as soon as they were notified.
