Cancer Society seeks outright ban on sunbeds in Ireland

The Irish Cancer Society says it will be lobbying the Government for an outright ban on sunbeds in Ireland.

Earlier today Health Minister Mary Harney launched a public consultation process before drawing up new legislation to regulate the use of sunbeds.

Members of the public have eight weeks to submit ideas.

The Cancer Society says sunbeds are "completely unsafe" and represent a "significant danger" to consumers and it will be lobbying for an outright ban.
