The Irish Alliance for Europe has launched a campaign for a Yes vote in the forthcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum.

The campaign is being backed by high-profile politicians like former Taoiseach Garret Fitzgerald, former European Parliament president Pat Cox and former government ministers Ruairi Quinn and Michael O'Kennedy.

The alliance plans to spend €750,000 over the next six weeks informing the public about the benefits of a Yes vote.

The referendum takes place on Thursday, June 12th.
