Army Bomb Disposal Unit to examine hoax bomb

Gardaí are investigating a bomb hoax in Dublin city centre overnight.

A number of houses were evacuated on Seville Place in the city centre just after midnight, after a suspicious device was put through a letter box of a house.

The Army Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the scene - the device was x-rayed and declared a hoax.

The package has been removed for further examination this morning.

It is the 14th such hoax in Dublin so far this year.
