Jobs fears as Ballymun Plaza Hotel closes

Up to 40 jobs may have been lost in Dublin today.

Workers at the Ballymun Plaza Hotel have been informed that the hotel has been repossessed by the landlord because of a dispute with the operator.

The company says it will be taking legal proceedings against the operator to recover outstanding rent.

The hotel has now been closed and workers face an uncertain future.

SIPTU spokeswoman Miriam Hamilton said she is hoping to hold talks with the owners and the operator to seek clarity on the jobs situation.
