Army gives all-clear after device declared a hoax

The Army has given the all-clear after a suspect device was found in Dublin's north inner city this morning.

The Defence Forces say a suspicious device that saw traffic diversions put in place in Dublin this morning was an elaborate hoax.

The object was found near the Richmond Courthouse on North Brunswick Street at around 7am.

Gardaí sealed off the street while army bomb disposal experts examined the device, which was subsequently found to contain no explosive materials.

North Brunswick Street in the Smithfield area of Dublin has been reopened.
