Woman who absconded before trial back in custody
A Galway woman who absconded to Wales the day before she was due to go on trial for the murder of a man in the city is back in custody.
26-year-old Una Black from Droim Chaoin, Bishop O’Donnell Road - and formally of Walter Macken Flats in Mervue - was arrested in the early hours of this morning, after she arrived into Rosslare on a ferry.
She is charged with the murder of 42-year old John Malone at Walter Macken Flats, on December 3rd 2006.
Judge Paul Carney gave her until 11o'clock this morning to appear before the Central Criminal Court sitting in Galway.
She is due to appear before a District Court sitting today, to be remanded in custody.
