Missing man found dead in Sweden

A 32-year-old man who went missing in Sweden more than a week ago has been found dead.

John Aherne, from Wicklow town, was last seen drinking in a bar in Stockholm on Saturday March 15.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it was offering consular assistance to the family.

It is understood Mr Aherne’s body was identified today.

Swedish police have spent the last ten days searching land and waterways for Mr Aherne.
