Brian Kearney lodges appeal against life sentence
Dublin man Brian Kearney, who was given a life sentence for murdering his wife Siobhan at their home, has lodged an appeal to his conviction.
Earlier this month, the 51-year-old was found guilty of strangling his 38-year-old wife to death in her bedroom in February 2006.
Mr Kearney's solicitors gave notice of his intention to challenge the conviction at the office of the Court of Criminal Appeal last week.
The challenge is not expected to be heard for at least six months.
