Five houses targeted in Limerick drive-by shooting
Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a drive-by shooting in which a machine gun was discharged at five houses in the St Mary's Park area of the city last night.
The gunmen entered the area in a stolen taxi at around 8.30pm and opened fire on the houses on St Ita's Street, causing damage to windows and doors.
The houses were all occupied at the time, some by families with young children.
However, nobody was injured in the incident.
The stolen taxi was later recovered on the outskirts of Limerick and has been sent for technical examination.
Gardaí say the shooting was related to the on-going feud between rival criminal gangs in the city.
