The Gardaí have confirmed that a suspicious device found in Dublin's south inner city this morning was a viable pipe-bomb.

More than 100 people were evacuated from nearby homes after the bomb was found between two parked cars on Braithwaite Street in the Liberties area shortly before 9am.
