Minister: Troop deployment to Chad on track

The Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea says the deployment of 400 Irish troops to Chad is on track.

Fifty members of the Elite Army Ranger wing are already on the ground in the Central African state.

Up to 350 soldiers will follow in three stages before May.

Willie O'Dea says there has been evidence of more rebel activity in Chad, but the mission will go ahead.
