Man freed in connection with Cork death

A man in his forties who was being questioned by Gardaí in Cork in connection with the death of another man in the city on Friday has been released without charge.

He had been arrested on the north side of Cork earlier today and was being held at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

A file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

41-year-old Anthony Hennessey, a father of four, died after he collapsed outside a pub he had been drinking in on Blarney Street.

A post mortem examination has been carried out although Gardaí say they are not releasing the results for operational reasons.
