A teenager was today remanded in custody charged with the murder of a Polish man in Dublin last month.

A teenager was today remanded in custody charged with the murder of a Polish man in Dublin last month.

Pawel Kalite, aged 26, was stabbed in Drimnagh on February 23.

Detective Garda Eamonn Maloney of Sundrive Road garda station told Dublin District Court that the boy, aged 17, was charged at 11.05pm yesterday at the station.

His father was present that the time.

The boy said, ’No’, after being cautioned.

Judge Thomas Fitzpatrick remanded the teenager in custody to St Patrick’s Institution until this Wednesday, March 19, when he is due before the Juvenile Court.

Following a request from defence solicitor Ciara McCann Judge Fitzpatrick granted free Legal Aid, citing the gravity of the alleged offence.
